Hey yall, we are David and Carol Lee. We live near Gainesville Florida which is north central Florida; 1 1/2 hours from Jacksonville,  about 1 1/2 hours from Tampa/Orlando area and about 2 1/2 hours from Valdosta, Ga.   We were given our first rat terrier back on Jan 1, 2001 by our neighbor Johnny. I had always been around larger dogs, did not like or care for the smaller dogs. The dog that was given to us was your typical rat terrier, white with black spots, long legs (TYPE A). She rode with my husband in his semi. Pretty soon, I started to fall in love with our little Sissy, as much or more than my husband had. She was now a part of our family.

We did not stop here. We went back to our neighbor and bought our beloved Honey Bear. What a little pistol she turned out to be; completely opposite from Sissy. David has often said that with Honey Bear by Sissy's side, they could charge Hell wide open with a water pistol.

The next thing you know, Johnny was bringing us a file cabinet and low and behold, Butch was inside and the rest is history.   Needless to say, we have fallen for these little guys, HEAD OVER HEELS.

I learned, about a year ago, that they come in all sizes, shapes, colors and patterns. Tall legs: Type A, Short legs: Type B (aka. Teddy Roosevelt). Some of the unusual patterns are brindle and merle, blue and chocolate of each pattern.

We have decided to raise Type A's, Type B's and also a few of the tiny tots.  We love all of them.  They are so unique, just like our children.  They range in size from 2#'s to 25#'s, full-grown.  However, we do not raise the larger ones.   What a variety of sizes and shapes, don't you think; just like people.  GOD SURE HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR.

Some of our nursery customers cannot believe they are all rat terriers.  We had one (Cowboy) that looked like a little miniature pinscher, but he was also a full-blooded rat terrier.   We sure do miss him.  He was a special little guy.

Honey Bear/Carol

This is my adorable Honey Bear who we lost on 2/8/16 from kidney failure.  It has been like losing a child.
